First step: Formation of the audit team:
Companies should appoint members of qualified persons, including the team leader and any technical experts needed for the internal audit team, and provide them with the necessary training.
Second step: Preparation of audit program:
At this stage, we determine where, when, by whom, and how the audit should be conducted.
Third step: Preparation of internal audit checklist:
Preparing an audit checklist is not a requirement of the standard, but it is prepared and used as a useful tool for auditors to cover all the requirements of the standard.
Fourth step: Audit plan:
The audit plan is a more detailed plan that is applied to each audit and includes the start time, end time, audit topics, audit documents, auditor, etc.
The fifth step: Sending the audit plan to the units:
To ensure the readiness of the company’s units, the lead auditor must provide them with the audit plan at least one week in advance.
Sixth step: Audit implementation:
Conducting an audit is a set of activities, such as an opening meeting and recording audit evidence through interviews, observing and listening to interviewees, as well as audit findings.
Seventh step: Registration of non-conformities:
At this stage, the audit team registers and announces the audit findings that indicate conformity or non-conformity of the management system.
Eighth step: Audit report:
At the end of the audit, the lead auditor prepares an audit report that includes conformances, non-conformances, opportunities for improvement, or good practices.
